Dear Esteemed Members,
It is with deep humility and a strong sense of responsibility that I assume the role of Chairman of Pune Branch of WIRC of ICAI. It is both an honor and a privilege to address you for the first time as Chairman of this vibrant and prestigious branch.
I am extremely grateful to all the members for their trust and continued support in electing me to the Managing Committee for two consecutive terms. I am also thankful to my colleagues in the Managing Committee for electing me unanimously as Chairman for the year 2026–27. I will continue to seek your support, guidance, and cooperation to serve the profession and our Alma Mater, ICAI, with utmost diligence, integrity, and transparency.
The Pune Branch of WIRC of ICAI is one of the largest and most dynamic branches, serving over 11,000 members and 25,000 students, with a rich legacy spanning more than six decades. I am confident that with your continued support, the Pune Branch will achieve even greater heights.
At the Pune Branch, we consistently strive to organize various programs such as national conferences, seminars, and certificate courses covering diverse topics including Income Tax, GST, GCC, Artificial Intelligence, Accounting Standards, Standards on Auditing, and Professional Ethics. We also conduct career counseling programs, mock tests, revision sessions, and have introduced a reading room facility for students to support their exam preparation.
This year, our key focus areas will be:
Innovation: Organizing workshops and seminars to provide practical insights into emerging areas such as GCCs, ESG, AI-enabled professional tools, and digitalization.
Technology: Conducting extensive AI training programs and workshops to help CA members become future-ready professionals.
Infrastructure: Developing state-of-the-art branch premises with AI labs, modern auditoriums, meeting rooms, computer labs, and a well-equipped library.
Sustainability: Continuing eco-friendly practices by avoiding the use of plastic bottles and banners during seminars and conferences.
I take this opportunity to thank the Central Council Members, Regional Council Members, Managing Committee Members, senior professionals, colleagues, family, friends, and well-wishers for their blessings and continuous support.
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” I urge all members to actively participate in various seminars, workshops, and conferences. Your valuable suggestions and support will help us serve the profession better.
Best Regards,
CA Pranav R. Apte
Chairman
Pune Branch of WIRC of ICAI
